    Hope

Sometimes life seems to be an uphill climb and on that climb we have all said it: ‘I hope …’ ‘I am hoping …’ ‘We hope ...’

Our hopes are the things that drive us; they are the key to where we are heading; they are the things that give us the strength to go onward and upward when life’s journey is tough.

Hope comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Our hopes might include such things as good health, security, strong families, and satisfaction at work.
The problem with such hopes is that they can be dashed in a moment. The results of a hospital test; a change in economic circumstances; an accident; a breakdown in a relationship; a bereavement can all sweep away our hopes, leaving us lost, and hopeless.

The Easter Hope is quite different. It is based on something that cannot be taken away. It is based on an unalterable set of facts, the death and resurrection of Jesus. These facts change everything in two different ways.
Firstly they give us a different perspective, the perspective of eternal life. We still face the ups and downs of life, but when viewed from a mountain top they appear quite different.
Secondly the whole journey becomes a source of hope and joy rather than a source of anxiety when you know that you have a friend with you who has already travelled the path. Jesus has done this.
Why not join us in church? It could be the start of a whole new journey with Jesus.
